The Mercer Museum opens two new exhibits, ToyTime and Under the Tree: A Century of Holiday Toys on Saturday, December 17.  Both exhibits explore the history and fun of old-fashioned toys.

The Mercer's Museum's fall fundraising gala, will be held on Friday, October 14.  Guests will sample food, wine and spirits on all levels of the castle.  Tickets are $150/$125 for members.

On Monday, July 4th from Noon-5 pm, Fonthill re-creates an early 20th-century July 4th celebration on its grounds, featuring old-time games, food, patriotic music, and activities.  

The Mercer Museum's inaugural exhibit in its brand-new, state-of-the-art gallery will be the show, A World of Things: The Mercer Museum A-Z.  The exhibit will take a fresh look at the museum's collection and will feature objects that have rarely or never been on view before.  The show will run through November 27.

The Mercer Museum will open its new, $12.5 million, 13,000-square-foot wing to the public on Saturday, June 18, 2011.

The Mercer Museum Auction, the museum's spring fundraiser, taking place on April 15, features a Silent and Live Auction, Happy Hour Preview Party, along with entertainment and refreshments. Some of the items up for bid include getaways to New York City, Cape May, NJ, a tour of the Capitol in Harrisburg, Phillies tickets and more.

Only offered a few times a year, the Behind the Scenes Tours of Fonthill Castle take visitors through the wondrous home of Henry Mercer to see places that are not on the regular daytime tour.

In December, Fonthill Castle is decked out for the holiday season with themed trees and Victorian decorations.  Tours during the month include the regular daytime tour along with the Holiday Lights Meander and Candlelight Holiday Tours.

The Mercer Museum's expansion project is well under way, with plans to enclose the structure before winter arrives. 

Called the "area's premier food and wine tasting event," the Mercer Museum's fall fundraiser on Friday, October 8, brings together a variety of restaurants, caterers, bakeries, wineries and breweries for an unforgettable evening admist the Mercer's magnificent collection.

Elizabeth H. Gemmill of the Warwick Foundation, announced distribution of $37 million in assets to Bucks County organizations, including a $5 gift to the Mercer Museum.

Since December 2009, the Mercer Museum has been undergoing construction for a new changing exhibits and education wing.  Plans are on target to open the new wing in summer 2011.

The Mercer and Fonthill Museums are participating in Blue Star Museums this summer.  The initiative will allow active military and their families to enjoy free admission at the museums through Labor Day, September 6, 2010.

The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) awards a $10,000 grant to the Bucks County Historical Society. These funds will support quality educational programs for school children and family visitors at the Mercer Museum in Doylestown.

The Mercer Museum celebrated its groundbreaking for its new exhibition and education wing last December.  The construction project is scheduled to be completed in spring 2011.  "A World of Things: Mercer A to Z" will be the inaugural exhibit in the new gallery.
